Show PROCEEDS OF BAZAAR CLEARS LIBRARY BLDG. The bazaar recently held for the benefit of the Delta Public Library was highly successful, netting the substantial sum of $289.26 after all expenses are paid. This has made it possible for the committee to pay off the last instalment of $110.55: on the labrary building, and leaves a nucleus for improvements to the building and equipment. The following is a report of the receipts of the various departments: Dinners (IReief Society) $ 60.35 Dance (Sociable Sixty) 87.00 Baby Booth (Jolly Stitchers) 21.30 Household Booth (S. Tract) 45.20 Arts, novelties (D. A. Club) 28.34 Waffles, coffee (Rebekahs) 16.90 Candy (Fidelity Club) . 15.92 Mother Hubbard's Cupboard (Y. L. M. I. A.) 1575 White Elephant (Aid Soc.) 30.60 Total receipts $321.36 Expenses $ 32.10 Balance $289.26 The Library committee thanks each organization which responded so heartily to the. help of the library. lib-rary. We also thank the generous public who donated so liberally in every way. Already we have made the last payment on thhe building, amounting to $110.55. As soon as possible we hope to subscribe for several new magazines and purchase some new books. We also hope to make some arangementsi for better lighting and heating. The Librarian's Librar-ian's salary must come from the pledges of the various clubs until March, 1926.. According to County Coun-ty Treasurer D. W. Black, this year's; tax receipts are more than 25 per cent greater than at this time last year. |
