Show Drive for Fund Meets Generous Response GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS OF SEED AND BEETS BEING MADE SHOW APPRECIATION OF THE WORK OF CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. COM-MERCE. The drive for funds for carrying on the good work of the Delta Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce started Monday night. At an enthusiastic meeting territory was allotted and fifteen men started to canvass for donations of seed and beets. The response so far received has been well up to expectations ex-pectations and shows that the efforts of the organization are appreciated. The present drive is being carried on in the farming districts and when copleted, the business men of Delta will be asked to match with cash, the amount donated by the farmers in beets and seed. The following are a few of the accomplishments of the Chamber in .he past: Raised an advertising fund of $1,800. Sponsored and organized a Boosters Boost-ers excursion in 1921, when eighty buisines men from Salt Lake City and Los Angeles made a two days survey sur-vey of the county, resulting in much lavoiable publicity in those cities. Put up large sums of money anil was constantly active and helpful in inducing the railroad company to build the Fillmore branch line. Has kept constantly in touch with the County Commissioners and in a number of cases induced them to build bridges and repair roads. For two years has arranged to have date of tax delinquency postponed until December 20th. ? Begun the agitation for weed control, con-trol, resulting in intelligent and constant con-stant cultivation of patches of white top. This move spread to practically every other county in the state.
