Show May Reclaim Charter if Mine Resumes Operation They don't "found" towns in Utah ; they find a likely looking copper or coal vein, mine it for a season or two, and the town just sort of happens as an accessory to the mine. When the vein peters out a motley hodge-podge of wooden shacks crumble and tumble down the mine shaft and another "town" has faded from the bronze landscape of the Utah hills. That accounts for the message that department headquarters of the American Amer-ican Legion received from Mohrland, Utah, recently, which read: "All records and the charter of Mohrland post of the Legion are being forwarded forward-ed to headquarters. All affairs of the post have been settled; we ask that the charter be suspended without prejudice. In the event the mine resumes re-sumes operations the post will surely become active again. Address no reply re-ply to Mohrland ; the post office has closed shop." |
