Show Rich Manganese Find S on Drum Mountain Report reaches us that Deseret partis have discovered what promises to be a rich deposit of Manganese ore on Drum' mountain moun-tain and parties from Salt Lake have gone out to investigate the find. The lead is twenty-five feet in width and the per cent of maganese on the samples sent in, runs up around seventy. Parties conversent with the ground in the locality of Dum state that there are large quantities quanti-ties of this ore in the- Drum district dis-trict but that this is the first that has been located in ' that vicinity which appears in the district carrying a sufficient per cent to pay to freight it to the railroad at Sugarville. If the find proves to carry as large a percent as the assas shows Sugarville Sugar-ville will be made the shipping-point shipping-point for a large amount of the ore and a little later it is expected expect-ed that other ore from that dis trict which is being freighted out will come via. Sugarville. Jake Turner, one of the prominent prom-inent miners and prospectors of Utah, is out on Deseret mountain moun-tain developing what promises to be a paying copper mine. Mr. Turner is associated in the enterprise en-terprise with other prominent mining men of Utah. California men, who have been prospecting in the Snake valley for oil, after going down over three hundred feet have shut down on account of the trouble they have experienced with the rig they are using and have gone to California where they have a large, rig with which they intend in-tend returning in the near future and going on down. The signs of oil they found ha greatly encouraged them in their work in that locality.and they feel confident con-fident that with a rig they can depend on they will be able to reach what they seek. With all the development work now going on in the western part of the county and the many promising outlooks that are showing up that part of the county coun-ty bids fair to take a more prominent prom-inent place on the map of Utah. |
