Show OAK CITY. W. R. Walker, Chronicle Representative. Representa-tive. I,cltoy Walker has returned home. He has been attending the A. (.'. I'. at Logan. County Horticulturist Will Rasmus-sen Rasmus-sen was in town Friday looking over our orchards and getting n report from tho deputy. Allhough very busy he found time to divide part of his visit with one of Oak City's nice young ladles. j No doubt the orchards will be well looked after in the future. I Last Tuesday Mr. John Latimlahl re- j turned to Oak City with his wife, who is bi tter known as Kthel Harton. Wednesday evening the young pen-pie pen-pie gave them a bundle shower. Refreshments Re-freshments were served and the songs, speeches, etc., were enjoyed by all. A very large crowd was present and a very enjoyable lime was had. A big dance was given Friday night to pay the expenses of two of our athletes ath-letes who go to the M. I. A. inert In Salt Lake City. They are Charley Itoper and Leltoy Walker. Saturday the Stake Priesthood meeting was held here. Thomas Mem-molt Mem-molt of Sclplo and Pres. A. A. Hinckley Hinck-ley were the speakers. Mr. Memmott spoke on tho Genealogy Geneal-ogy Society and President Hinckley on the holding of priesthood meetings during dur-ing the summer. Sunday Primary Stake conference was held In Oak City. Miss Alice Howarth of the General Hoard was In attendance and gave some very good lessons to tho congregation. Two meetings were held, both of which were well attended. At the afternoon meeting thero were 4S0 present, pres-ent, tho largetit crowd that has ever attended at-tended meeting In Oak City. Music has taken a big advance In Oak City. Quite a number of new instruments have been purchased and good results are being accomplished. Don Anderson, with only a few weeks' practice. J now heard playing "Has Anybody Hero Seea Kelly." |
