Show Inspect Delta Project The members of the State Board of Land Commissioners, W. D. Candland, president, W.' J. Lynch, secretary, A. G. Giauque and T. H. Merrill, also State Engineer, W. D. Beers and Frederick Steigmeyer, attorney attor-ney for the Delta Land & Water Co., arrived in Delta last Thursday Thurs-day for the purpose of investigating investi-gating the controversy which has arisen between the Delta Co. and some of the North Tract settlers over the conditions of land settled upon. The board was also accompanied by C. H. Wells, Carey-act project inspector inspect-or for the U. S. government. The board held court on every tract of land upon which there was complaint. They took testimony testi-mony of the witnesses under oath and secured samples' of tHe soil.of the various tracts which will be analized. They were busy going over the tract in detail until Sunday when they returned to Salt Lake. There will be no official statement state-ment given out by the board concerning the recent trip to the project, until the regular meeting, meet-ing, Oct. 3. Secretary W. J. Lynch stated that the report on the north tract, which is in dispute, will not be made until it is in the hands of the general land office at Washington, as the request for the investigation came from this source. |
