Show i Sutherland Searchlights Ross Simpkins and family returned re-turned last. Monday from a visit in Summit, New Castle ami Circleville. They report having several punctures and once the machine went down hill backwards, back-wards, but fortunately no damage dam-age was done. Miss Langford of Summit, returned with them. She is a graduate of the B. A. C. High School and a very fine musician. Mr. and Mrs. Sherrick of Abraham spent Sunday at S. W. Smith's. Saturday night seventeen young-folks young-folks met at the home of Mr. Huntsman and went in a body to the home of Laurence Titus and gave him the surprise of his life in honor of his eighteenth birthday. birth-day. All had a most pleasant evening and after delicious refreshments re-freshments were served the guests wished him lots of happy birthdays and cheery good-nights good-nights were heard. School did not start last Wednesday Wed-nesday as reported but waited until Monday. They are working work-ing on the new building and hope to have it finished in a few weeks. The Jolly stitchers meet this Friday at the home of Mrs. Will Titus. All are looking forward to a very pleasant afternoon. Helene Davis has been sick in bed for several days with the grippe, but is out again. Frank Belston left Monday for Salt Lake. He said "I'm going to get my wife and bring her down' 'hereT- bat-he -has told' us " that so many times we'll have to be shown now. There wasn't any Sunday school Sunday as so many were attending Conference in Deseret. Talk about thunder, lightening lighten-ing and rain, well, Friday Old Mother Nature showed us that she hadn't forgotten anything about any of them. Mr. Keyes had a sholder blade broken in two places as a result of the lightening. Miss Helen Bunker who was reported last week as quite sick is about again and has her sunny sun-ny smile as of old and we're all glad to see it. Master Teddy Kenny has been quite sick with bronchitis. Mr. and Mrs. Walker and Miss Helen Bunker, made a trip to the mines out north and report a hot dusty trip. A little party was given Sunday Sun-day evening at the home of Ross Simpkins in honor of Miss Martha Mar-tha Langford. A most pleasant evening was enjoyed by all. Miss Agnes Hersleff of Wood-row, Wood-row, was a visitor last week at the home of Miss Helen Smith. Mrs. Perry and son, Russel, are expected home this week from San Diego, Cali., where she has been for several months. Russel left here a couple of weeks ago to make the return trip with her. The Relief Society met Tuesday Tues-day afternoon with Mrs. Hulse. The Subject for the afternoon was "Home Economics." |
