Show S.W. Western a pioneer of Deseret Funeral servises were held for Mrs. Dewsnip at the ward hall at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and for Mrs. Hales at 2 p.m on the same day. The floral offering at both services servi-ces were both profuse and beautiful. Deseret Doings. Dr. Conkling is doing dental work at the barber shop. A number of new flags have been placed for whooping cough and mumps. The graders and drags have made our roads almost boulevards again. Mr. Rappelye of Kanosh, deputy dep-uty assessor is a guest at the Moody Hotel, Miss Fannie Kleckner, whose epartmentat the A. C. has bean closed, returned home last Tue. The Junior class play on Friday night was a treat. It was every bit as good as promised and we enjoyed every minute of it. Feb 28 was a sad day to a great many of the residents of Deseret Two beloved mothers passed to the great beyond leaving numerous numer-ous relatives and friends to mourn for them. Mr.Chas. Thompson, custodian at the A. C. Nelson, has a small son very ill with whooping cough and pneumonia and was not expected to live this morning but we all hope the little fellow will pull through. Sarah Jane Hales died from pleurisy at the age of 75 years. She was the mother of 15 children child-ren 14 of whom survive her. Her husband died about six years ago. She was noted for her hospitality and kept an open house and every ev-ery one was sure of a welcome at her home. The Abraham barn-stormers played to a small audience Thur. night, owing to so many deaths. Those who attended voiced their pleasure and appreciation, especially espec-ially of the music. This orchestra will play here at a ball in the A. C. Nelson Gym. Friday night. The music promises to be a treat so "on with the dance, let joy be unconfined". A kitchen shower was given at the Relief Hall on Sat. evening in honor of Miss Nora Damron who was married at Fillmore to Mr. Elmer Petty on Monday, Mar. 15. The young lady wastherecip-pient wastherecip-pient of many useful gifts. The 1 ladies present declare they had ' the best time ever. A reception will be tendered the young couple ; at the relief hall Tue. evening ' Mar. 16. i Lucy Dewsnip. aged 38 died at the L.D.S.hospital at Salt Lake City, following an operation for appendicitis. She leaves a hus-' hus-' band, 3 children and numerous relatives, She was a daughter of |
