Show should bring four horses and a fresno. Our early sowed barley is coming com-ing nicely. The state and county superintendents superin-tendents Mr. Gowan and Mr. Peterson made a pleasant call at our school on Friday of last week. Mr. Coffin, of Coffin and Lane, made a business trip to their ranch on the South Tract the first of the week. South Tract Review The splendid early weather conditions are a great help in getting in the spring crops and starting to new life the fall crops and lucerne. A pleasant and profitable afternoon af-ternoon was spent at the home of Mrs. Carl Elmer-by the Economics Eco-nomics Club last Thursday, and the following meeting will be held with Mrs. Geo. Beach, in two weeks. . A late letter from Illinois states that W. H. Tomlinson wili soon be with us again. On Saturday the 18th, inst, as per previous arrangement sixteen six-teen men with teams appeared at the South Tract school house in the forenoon and put in the entire day. All the brush was taken off of a considerable tract of ground and the whole tract, was thoroughly plowed and partly part-ly leveled. A culvert was put in accross the road to convey the water from the well away from the play ground and to dry up the the mud in the road. The ladies of the neighborhood came also and got up a splendid dinner for which they certainly deserve many thanks. Next Saturday we will finish leveling and put a ditch and trees around the entire yard and the water from the well will irrigate the entire length of ditch and trees. We now feel that the children can go out to play without danger from snags and thorns. Now if we could only exchange the building that is there simply simp-ly as a pretense, for a school house we could enjoy extending further care and adornment of grounds. Altho it is a busy time, we hope to see all the neighbors out next Saturday, especially those who could not be with us last Saturday. Every two men |
