Show Knew Money by Onion Smell. That an ill wind, even an onion smell, blows somebody good was shown m police court, Brooklyn, by Simon Silverman, an onion peddler. Silverman missed his roll of S.'V A woman told him she had just passed two men, one of whom was saying: "You found it; you keep It." The peddler called a policeman, who took the pair to court. On one $19 in bills was found. The policeman asked Silverman if he could identify his money. "Don't give them to me, Mr. Police-man," Police-man," exclaimed the peddler "If they smell of onions thev're mine" The onion odor convinced the cop Silverman got the money and the prisoner pris-oner was held. |
