Show A number of the farmers of this district are already beginning begin-ning to inquire into the process of the formation of "Rural Credits Cred-its Ass'n" and we look for a big line-up of the farmers with proper pro-per credentials to present to the District Bank by the time it is ready to advance loans to the associations. In Weber county the county farm bureau is taking tak-ing active steps to form these associations. We will be glad to publish calls of any wanting to begin the formation of associations associa-tions free of charge. Don't delay de-lay these matters gentlemen. We learned while in Salt Lake last week that the Cudahy interests in-terests were to soon take over the old packing plant of that city which has been idle for some time and make a modern packing pack-ing establishment of it and create cre-ate a packing center for the in-termountain in-termountain country in Salt Lake. This should be a great advantage to the livestock industry in-dustry of the country and should not be overlooked and should be taken advantage of b; them as soon as the opportunity arrives as it is these industries which will build up the west and bring-about bring-about a greater consumption of home products, both in the packing pack-ing of the products and consumption consump-tion of products by those employed employ-ed in such institutions. We should all be strong for home industries. in-dustries. In response to a call for a meeting of the country newspaper news-paper men of Utah at the Franklin Frank-lin club rooms in Salt Lake last Saturday evening about a dozen " " -oi the fraternity assembled there and proceeded to organize an association along lines adhering strictly to the country newspaper situation. Those who attended the meeting meet-ing showed much enthusiasm in the organization of an association associa-tion on solid lines and in a manner man-ner which would bring about the most good to the fraternity and to the state. It was the sentiment senti-ment of those gathered there that there be two meetings during dur-ing the year. One to be strictly a business meeting and the other a social meeting to include the families of the newspaper men and also excursions to different parts of the state. This meeting is to bring about a more intimate acquaintance among the paper men and give them an opportunity opportun-ity of learning more of the advantages ad-vantages and beauties of their state. Another idea of the association associa-tion is to educate the various interests in-terests of the state to the necessity neces-sity of supporting the papers of the state more liberally. In so doing these interests are promoting promot-ing their own interests from the fact that they are putting into the hands of the country editors means with which to recuperate their resources and broaden the scope of their usefulness by turning out better and bigger papers which will cover a much larger scope and induce more people to come to our state, and urge those already here to a greater sphere of activity. The next meeting at which a permanent organization will be completed will be set for some time about the first of the coming com-ing year when it is hoped that every country printer of the state will be in attendance. |
