Show whizzes by- W. R. Walker and Mr. and Mrs. M. A! Abbott, spent two days last week visiting in Fillmore Fill-more during Well Days celebration celebra-tion and went over to take a look at the U. B. Dam. Jode Steward entertained a crowd of relatives and friends Monday, a number among them , were here to look over the country coun-try and its projebts. . fty Sherrer made a trip by auto to Salt Lake last week, taking Mr. Keeler who needed imediate medical attention. Misses Era and Fern Holdrige entertained the little girls' tatting tat-ting club last Friday. The Jolly Stitchers will meet with Mrs. Wm. Perry Friday of this week. Howard Abbott has moved his family from the dam, and himself him-self and Wayne Lisonbee have-gone have-gone to Uinta Basin to look for employment and the prospects for a home. The water controversy of the Midland Tract seems to be in a more settled condition. People are still planting late crops such as oats etc. Shacks and cottages are springing up all over the tract. We have not learned the names of all the new comers but we hope to get acquainted with all in time and Wish them success and prosperity in their farming. Mrs. Mable Kenny just arrived ar-rived from San Francisco, for an extended visit with her mother and family, Mrs. May Smith. Mr. Smith will follow latter. Two Mr. Christensens and families were visiting Sunday f.vith their brother-fn-law and family, E..L. Abbott. The first crop of hay, tho very light, is being cut. Crops are growing very slowly on account : of the continued cold weather. A Aekerman, Arthur Acker-man Acker-man and Lou Davis, made a short trip to Salt Lake last week. Miss Annie Ackerman went over ! with her father to stay for some time and visit with relatives. i Mr. and Mrs. Lou Davis have ' moved into Burt Johnson house. ' The Bee Hive Girls are taking up their work for the summer. A number of them enjoyed riding rid-ing horse back last week. A wagon trip is planned for this , week. E. H. Bunker, who has sold l out will move to Delta in the near future and Mr. Schlappy , will take posession of the prop- , erty. 1 Sutherland Searchlights We have been waiting for a warm day that we might say, lets cut our heavy, first crop of hay, thin out the beets, and run the hoe, so our bounteous crop might rush and grow, but mother nature answers"no",and in reply a cold north wind just |
