Show Visitors from Fillmore Attorney Higgins and Game CommissiQnes Miah Day, were in town Tuesday. Mr. Higgins is on the county central committee com-mittee and was here conferring with M. A. Abbott, chairman of the republican county central committee, relative to the dates of the coming conventions. Mr. Higgins is out for district attorney at-torney and lias an excellent chance to win out. Mr. Day says that the game of the county is doing fairly well and hunting will be up to the standard. They also bring the report that there is some gold excitement at Fillmore, Fill-more, some parties having found a lead in the mountains near there which they brot to town and crushed and panned. The result of the panning was about a tablespoonful of - coarse gravel from a rock the size-of one fist which showed considerable flake gold, a test was put to this of acid which indicated, gold. -A sample of the rock has been sent to Salt Lake to be assayed and the parties who made the find have gone back to the prospect for further development. |
