The case of Ted Moore, charge d with assault on the person, Mrs. Parley Stapley of Hinckley, was tried in justice court at Fillmore last week and Moore was' fined $150 and costs, having plead guilty to the charge. .Moore paid his fine and he and his wife left last Sunday for Chicago, Rev. and Mrs. Hamilton have returned from an extended trip to the east and services will be held at the Presbyterian 'phapel next Sunday evening. While in the east they attended the national nati-onal Presbyterian at Atlanta City, and visited relatives in a number of the eastern states. LOCAL Pi mis m P. M. Sanders has been appointed ap-pointed the position of P. M. at Oasis. L. R, Walker, has resigned the position of postmaster at Oak City and has been succeeded by Miss Sylvia Lovel. McClellan of the Millard Academy, and John Reeve, chairman of Millard County Coun-ty Drainage District No. 1, were Delta visitors last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. The last contingent of the Ut, troops passed thru Delta last Friday for the border, and word comes from Nogales that they have arrived there and are now comfortably located. Last Sunday, friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Meinhardt at Sutherland, to enjoy dinner and spend the day in sociability. Those present pres-ent were the families of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heise, and of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beckwith with Miss Mary Johnson who is visiting visit-ing with Miss Athena Beckwith, and the family of Henry Freese. After dinner of chicken and other good things, the autos took the party over to the flume for a swim. The day was very pleasantly pleas-antly spent, and all thank the hostess. |
