Woodrow again distinguished herself Friday, June 30th, by the fine musical given to introduce the new piano to the community. The program was fine from start to finish and it is a matter for congratulation to know that our friends and neighbors are gifted with talents which compare fav- orably with communities which i rank as educational centers. . $30.00 was realized from the - sale of ice cream. July 4th was a safe and sane one for Woodrow, nothing doing at all except a daybreak salute I to the day. Most of our citizens j spent the day at Sugarville and t. were greatly pleased with the ? hospitality and entertainment r' afforded us. Mr. and Mrs. Phil-" Phil-" ip Lamson spent, the day with ! relatives in Hinckley. The fam- - ily and visitors of Herman Fred- ricks also spent the day at Hinckley. The people of Woodrow have ,. greatly appreciated the presence - and labors of Dr. Robt. Elmore, , of Valpariso, Chili, for the past past two months. Altho Dr. 1 Elmore was here for a rest, he l freely gave of his time and talent j to the church and Sunday school y at Woodrow and preached to crowded houses. Our best wish- es go back with Mr. and Mrs. Elmore for success in their cho3-. cho3-. en life work of missionary effort. |
