Show Device Ntsdsd by Avlatore. Aviation devotees are giving some attention to the demand for a magnetic mag-netic compass which will not be affect ed by the vibrations of the machine. The same difficulty la being experienced experi-enced by the airmen as was encountered encoun-tered by those who had occasion to descend de-scend in submarines. Some English flyers are experimenting with a device de-vice which has been tried with more or less success on submarines and which was devised by tbe commander command-er of a submarine boat. It consists of the usual mariner's compass, floating float-ing In oil, contained In a case which rests In a bed of horsehair. The horsehair horse-hair Is not packed at all densely, but i Its springiness Is so great and endur Ing that It makes an excellent proteo- , tlon against the vibrations of tbe motor. |
