She returned home last Sunday. C. Soren I son of the Delta Merc, spent the latter part of last week in Salt Lake City buying holiday goods for the store and attending to other business. Messrs J. P. Sprunt and F. L. Copening- came down from Salt Lake last Monday and are attending at-tending to affairs in connection with the establishment of the Southern Utah Sugar Co.'s plant here. '0. D- Thompson, subscription man for the Deseret News, was here the first of the week looking look-ing after the interest of the paper. This was Mr. Thompson's Thomp-son's first trip to the Delta country coun-try and, like every one else who comes here for the first time, he was suprised to learn that there was such an immense agricultural agricul-tural country in this neck-o-the-woods. David Rosenbaum, who has been attending to affairs on his farm on the South Tract and making some improvement on it, left monday for his home at Brig-am Brig-am City. He expects to be back about the first of the year. Next summer he will bring his family down to spend the summer on the farm. Uncle Jim Melville, Fred Cot-trell Cot-trell and Milton Moody made a trip to the Sevier Bridge dam Wednesday on tour of inspection. They were accompanied by J. C. Wheelon, engineer for the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho Sugar Co., who was one of the speakers at the Round-up. The work of re-eonstructbn at the dam is going forward very satisfactorily and Mr. Wheelon was very much impressed with the dam and the substantial work under way. Attorney J. Alex Melville reports re-ports the sale of the Woodruff ranch at Abraham, to H. Min-ami, Min-ami, a Japanese farmer from Salt Lake City. The ranch contains con-tains three hundred and twenty acres of choice alfalfa land, but will be used in the future for the growing of sugar beets. It is expected that within a few years Mr. Minami will have the entire ranch in sugar beets. Having been seeded to alfalfa for a number of years, it is in ideal condition for such a crop. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Davis, daughter Helen and little sons, nephew, Joe Palmer and Mrs. James Edwards, arrived in Delta last Thursday morning. Mr. Davis and family have secured the Mays place near Sutherland and will make their home there. They come here from Southern Coli., Mrs. Davis having been here last summer and looked the country over and secured the . Hays farm. Mrs. Edwards, who was visiting them, lives at ; Ridgeway, Colo., and stopped off ' to look at the country on her way ; home. Miss Helen -is a teacher ; in both vocal and piano music ; and will establish a class here '. and later may open a studio in : Delta. Last Thursday afternoon Kath-' Kath-' arine Brunson, aged eighty ! years, passed quietly away at her home in Fillmore, following an illness of less than a week's duration, after a long and useful life. Mrs. Brunson was one of the early pioneers of Millard county ; and leaves behind her a large i family of descendents, most of whom live in this connty. She ; is survived by five children, ' thirty-five grandchildren, and ', twenty-five great-grandchildren. ; Avery and Ed Bishop of Delta ' are grandsons. Ted Moore is in Denver, having hav-ing taken some ot the Snow " Crest porkers to thatf market. Delta public school will be dismissed dis-missed next Friday for their two weeks' holiday vacation. Uncle Jim Melville left last Sunday morning for Salt Lake after being present at the Round up for a week. Director J. Avery Bishop went to Fillmore last Wednesday to attend the monthly meeting of the Millard County School Board. Fancy Japanese Duhes.
