The program was as follows: At sunrise . the cannon was fired, the stars and Mrlpe hoisted, the silver band aspired to the top of our beautiful school building, where they played for some time. Their beautiful strains of music were plainly heard all over the town, thrilling and enlivening everybody. At ! o'clock a. m. there was a granJ parade pa-rade led by twelve boys and girls on horses, followed by two floats and the silver band. One flint bearing five members of our town board, twelve maids of honor and little Meadow represented rep-resented by Miss Flora dull, The other float contrasted the jast with Jthe present lu obtaining wuler, representing represent-ing a well and ladies drawing water frm t, and another lady taking her ease while the water flowed freely from the hydrant. A large assembly then gathered at the ward meeting house and listened to a very appropriate appro-priate and Interesting program after which they inarched to the park, where the twelve maids danced the May pole. Then all were seated In the bowery to tables all beautifully decorated and fairly groaning under their heavy load of the good things of life. The meal was Intermixed i with a number of toast. Then there was a children's dance, Ice cream and sports, and a ' dance In the evening ended the day's rilebratlon. A number of Invitation were sent out to different towns. A number from Fillmore and Kanosh Joined In our grand celebration. Every one certainly feels Jubllent over our success In piping the water such a b ng distance and getting It Into our home In a little over a year. We now can furnish any and all visitors t drink of the good pure, clear water which cannot be surpassed In the state. We have also succeeded in getting get-ting artesian water with a good flow Just southwest of town, which looks very promising for more in the neir future. The well Is aome one hundred and forty feet deep. . O. Labraum & Sona are the first to own an artesian well In thla locality. EJder Nephl Iteckstrand returned home last Thursday from England, where be has been labortog for the past two years as a missionary. A party will be given In his honor next Friday. Ansel Fisher and wife are borne from Ogden. where Mr. Fisher has been employed. |
