Show Van D. Spalding Dead Last Saturday, shortly after arriving in Delta, D. W. Livingston, Livings-ton, who With Van D. Spalding, is the owner of the Midland Irrigation Ir-rigation tract, west of Delta, received word from Salt Lake that Mr. Spalding was dying. He left that evening for Salt Lake to be with him during his laat hours. Of his death the Tribune gives the following account: ac-count: "Van D. Spalding, president of the Spalding-Livingston Investment In-vestment company of this city, died at S:.'i0 o'clock last night at his home, 821 E street. He was 52 years of age, and was prominent prom-inent here for his mining and investment in-vestment activities. Mr. Spalding was born in Monroe, Mon-roe, Mich., Oct. 22, 1863. When 5 years old he went with his parents par-ents to Montana. Later he returned re-turned to Michigan where he attended at-tended school. In 1906 he came to Salt Lake where he was engaged en-gaged extensively in mining and in irrigation enterprises. In the 1 same year he was married to Lizzie Livingston. His interests at the time of his death were largely represented in the Spalding-Livingston company, al though he was also interested in a number of Utah and Nevada mines and Utah farm lands. , Mr. Spalding was a prominent ' member of the Elks' club and the Commercial club.
