Show Hunting by Aeroplane. The hunting spirit 1ms not been slow to take its cue from the successful use of the aeroplane in war. If the scout can make his way unchecked above the lines of the enemy and search them out as he will; If he can drop bombs or shoot with definite effect on the enemy below, then surely the hunter, being able to fly low with no risk to himself, could follow his game from the air and get it at will. This has been done with success. The Literary Digest tells of hunting coyotes over the western plains by aircraft, quoting from Flying the details de-tails of how it is done. The- animals are taken unawares. On the air side, the only side from which they have never had reason to expect attack, their instinct has left them unguarded. This will be remedied In time, but what good will It Jo them? The aeroplane aero-plane can fly faster than the animal cau run. It probably will be adapted to the hunting of many forms of big game the world over, giving the hunter the advantage cf a protection from the recoil of such animals as tigers, lions and elephants which he never could have before. |
