B Seams died at the family ho home borne e at Sugarville Monday morning morning morn morn- ing ing about 8 o'clock from cancer of tho the stomach following an Illness of several of-several months A short time ago he was taken to a Salt Lake hospital where an operation was to be performed performed performed per per- formed but hut upon examination after the surgeons made an incision it was wa found that the patient was in too serious a condition and that even an operation would not save his life me He Re remained in the hospital eight weeks after atter which he was brought home it being known that death was only a matter of time Mr Mr Seams was a man of exceptional exceptional strength of character Coming hero here from California in the fall fal of 1913 he quickly came to the front frontin in the matters perplexing the farmer- farmer settlers at that time and took an active active ac ac- ac- ac tive Uve part in the Water Users Association Association Asso Asso- elation as one of its most strenuous members He effected a great good so BO much so 80 that tha every beneficial measure measure measure mea mea- sure to ameliorate the condition of the farmers was referred to J. J B. B Seams and nd his advice sought if U approved approved approved ap ap- ap- ap proved by him his services were earnestly enlisted In its behalf At the time of draining the North Tract Mr Seams was put in as supervisor supervisor supervisor su su- su- su of the construction work to which he gave wholehearted at at- He was always active in his work attentive to duty and never shirked Especially was he prominent prominent prominent nent In those measures which promIsed promised promised prom prom- relief for his co Mr Seams was five fifty-five years old born at Adrian Michigan He moved to Virginia and lived there two years then he moved to California Califor Califor- nia where he lived for sixteen years In December 1913 he moved to Del Del- ta His farm consists of acres He JIe is survived by his wife wite Louisa M M. Seams and the following children children children chil chil- dren Earl Seams Mrs John S. S Barker Barker Barker Bar Bar- ker Redlands Calif Mrs O. O W.
