Show Another Interesting Letter From Mitchell Clark Fance Sept 18 18 1918 Dear Brother I will answer your letter I received a few days ago I would have written sooner but I was on my m- wa way to the front when I received It I I went ov over r the top again but it was more like going to a Do picnic than going over the top 4 Say we got a lot of German and we sure had plenty to eat We got Into in into into In- In to the Officers Officers' supplies and got enough candied honey to last us all the time we were up p at the front I ate so much that I cant can't look honey in the face We found a few Sew cases of at brandywine but the best thing we found was a ware house full tull of German German German Ger Ger- man beer Well we Just helped our our- selves You could see kegs of beer going soing in all directions This was In a sector that the Germans had held every since 1914 They sure had it fixed up fine They even had a boiling bolling alley but we soon spoiled their nice h home me You should see some of their dugouts They are all made of ot concrete but they will have to dig them some more now in the mud We sure got a lot of prisoners I dont don't think they want to fight much more We We gota got lot of ot French people out of at the town we took who had been prisoners for tor four tour years They were so glad to see us Say Dick you should see ste the tanks work They are what can make the machine gunners hunt their holes holes- It looks funny to see the little ones cross a big trench They are first on one end then on the other It Is la some sight to to see iee the airplanes airplane fight tight Sometime they rJ fly down real Jow low and tire fire at nt us with a t tJ J machine gun sun and we fire back with our rifles s sI I saw a n machine gun bring down two German airplanes In about two min min- Sa Say this letter is for fOI you OU all I Iguess Iguess Iguess guess I I.
