Edward Taylor who has been our main help in getting the tho boys to to income come here to work 8 This letter explains fully why k Mathew Cannon did not make good as is further evidenced by the signed signed sign sign- ed statements of boys working in the same camp as Mathew was working Now Mr 1 Editor I 1 have had charge of the work of these bo boy camps since the of June Juhe June and have been in the fields with them daily except when I T was away way In Salt Lake or other places after boys boy t and I I do not know nor have I 1 ever heard of single in instances wh where re farmers have laid a hand on one of the boys One trip when in Salt Lake for several days clays and could not be here I I sent Mr 11 H. J Edward Taylor Tylor I I 1 have read several reports from Salt Lake newspapers Lake newspapers as to the mistreatments mis- mis mis-I mis j I I i I I treatments the boys have been receIvIng receiving re re- re- re here at the beet thinning camps It is different here to what has las been published in the papers I The people down here have been treating the boys fair fall but most of the he boys think they can make money without working g but some wont even tr try to make their board I have written home several times and all that I have reported was tell tell- ing how satisfactory the camps were here I 1 dont don't see where my father ther got gol the report that tho the boys were bein being down here Matthew Matthew Matthew Mat Mat- thew didn't work or he certainly could have made some money I 1 have made about clear since I 1 have been down here and I have been treated satisfactory I 1 was reading the report in the Telegram concerning these camps most of it Is not Hoping that you can get boys bos to come down hero to help hell the farmers as they need help I remain Sincerely yours Alan M.
