Show Eagle Court of Honor to be Held in Deseret Seven Qualified for High Honors; Banquet And Program Scheduled Another Court of Honor, adding to an already unsurpassed record of eagle scouts in Deseret District, will take place on Thursday, June 22, when a Deseret Stake Eagle Court of Honor will be held in Deseret De-seret Ward Chapel. Seven boys are qualified to become eagles. The record of eagles in Deseret District will be raised to, 97, making more eagle scouts in this district than any one other place. This record was set in 1937 and has never been surpassed. The seven boys who will qualify to be awarded this achievement are Richard Finlinson, Dean E. Anderson, An-derson, and Reece Finlison of Oak City, Talmage Christensen of Delta and Stanley Dewsnup, Wm. J. Conk and Harold F. Western of Deseret. An invitation has been extended to scouters and eagle scouts in the district to attend an eagle banquet before the court of honor program. The banquet is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. and the Court of Honor at 9:30 for the public. An Impromptu program will be featured at the banquet. N. L.. Peterson Pe-terson will be master of ceremonies, ceremo-nies, group singing will be led in a patriotic number by Ladd Cropper. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Western of Deseret De-seret and Ray Finlinson of Oak City will furnish musical numbers. Commissioner A. H. Reeve will conduct con-duct the initiation ceremonies. J.A. Bennett will introduce the master of ceremonies. Guests for the evening will be ex-chief A.A. Anderson of Provo and Scout executive Rulon W. Do-man. Do-man. The following program Is scheduled sche-duled for the Court of Honor at 9:30. 1. Presentation of colors S.S.S. 2. Musical number under direction direc-tion of Ladd Cropper. 3. Invocation President Joseph T. Finilinson. 4. Address of Welcome M.I.A. Stake president, Evan Gardner. 5. Presentation of Eagles. 6. Awarding of badges J.A. Bennett Ben-nett and Rulon W. Doman. 7. Musical number Violin Duet, Mrs. Norma Hannifin and Co. 8. Address to the Eagles and Speaker of the evening Chief A.A. Anderson of Provo. 9. Musical number under the direction of Merlin Christensen. 10. Taps Ikey Anderson of Des-seret. Des-seret. The Relief Society of Deseret Ward is going to prepare the banquet ban-quet which is expected to draw a crowd of 150 guests. |
