Show Oak City Mae H. Shipley Sunday evening at Sacrament services the MIA girls gave the program and received group a -wards for their activities the past year. The program was talks by the girls and the Presidency of the MIA. Ivan Shipley spoke and also did Bishop Finlinson. The music was furnished by the girl, Eldonna Anderson, conducting. Mr. land Mrs. Ivan Shipley and son, Larry and Margene Anderson were in Salt Lake. City Friday and Saturday. Miss Laurel Anderson and Jack Prisbrey of St. George were married mar-ried in the St. George temple on -March 18. Mr. George Anderson, Meredith Anderson, Mr .and Mrs. Junius Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Roper were at the wedding and reception. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Olson and family spent a few days in Oak City from Brigham City. Mrs. Florence Jones is reported as improving nicely at her daughter's daugh-ter's in Heber City. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Finlinson and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson- are in Spanish Fork for the wedding of Richard Finlinson and LaVon Williams, Monday, March 17. Mr. ,John Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley, Mr. and Mrs. Alden Nielson and Mrs. Florence Lovell attended the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Anderson and Janet War nick of Pleasant Grove at the Manti temple, Wednesday, March 12. Thursday evening at the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove chapel First ward, a lovely reception was held and a large crowd attended. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Talbot of Benjamin, Mrs. Nelda Jenkins and son, Emmerson of Ogden and Mrs. Clara Talbot were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Talbot over the week end. Several of our townspeople attended at-tended the basketball tournament at Salt Lake City this past week. Old Man Winter is still in Oak City. The snow, rain, wind and cold makes his long stay, not very welpome. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Folsom were Oak City visitors Saturday and Sunday. , |
