BY GLORIA WALKER Mrs Morgan May spent the last week visiting in Salt Lake City with her daughter, Mrs. Flora Wat son. Mr. May joined her there this week for the trip home. Mr and Mrs. Ralph Austin and son and infant daughter visited here this week with Mrs. Austin's sisters, Mrs. Delia Johnson, Mrs. Maxine Owens, and brother, Ber-nard Jackson. Mrs. Austin is the former Shirley Jackson. Scott Hansen is spending the summer here with his aunt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Por-ter- Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Fowles and Patsy visited here last week. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Sanford left last week on a trip through the northern part of Utah and into Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Terry drove to Logan Friday where they spent the week end visiting friends and relatives. Miss Ve.nna Walker is spending the week visiting in Lynndyl with her aunt, Mrs. Eunice Nielson and family. Lt. and Mrs. Shirley Bishop and daughters are house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bishop this week. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Jensen and children spent Sunday and Mon-day fishing on Fish Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Robison and family spent the Father's Day week end visiting . in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lyman spent Monday in Spanish Fork for den-tal care. Sutherland and Gleaners held a party at the laTi Thursday. Tuesday night w narty for the same group at (v.. Henries. Hiiifckley N(Hv LYLA RAE TALBOT Mrs. Clarissa Blake is spending a few days in St. George with reultives there. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarissa Blake recently were Mr.and Mrs. Orvil Cox and daugh-ter, LaWana and Mr. and Mu. Charles Cox of Shelley, Ida. Jim Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Morris is home from the army for a few days to help out since his father was hurt in an accident. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Roberts and Mrs. Boyd Hilton visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hilton recently. Mr. and Mrs. George Johns and Margene Hilton visited in Salt Lake last Tuesday and Wednes-day. Karen Jensen from Salt Lake came back with Margene and is visiting for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Lars Bishop and Sylvia Bishop spent a few days out of town last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnson from Salt Lake were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Meron Petersen. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Robinson last week were Mr. and Mrs. Elden Bennett and family from St. George. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman last week were Mr. and Mrs Wayne Jones and son from Hurricane, Blanche Severine and child, and Mr and Mrs. Warren Bergman and family from California. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Manis and son spent three days at the Rodeo in Tremonton. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Taylor are visiting here. Forrest has been stationed at Camp Roberts, Calif. for the past few months. After his ten day leave he will go to New Jersey and will be sent to Germany soon after that. Sunday evening services, were under the direction of Mr. Max Johnson. Speakers were Pat Bar-ney, Mrs. Max Johnson and Mr. Johnson. Mrs. Jean Tolbert sang two vocal solo's "Have I Done Any Good", and "The Lord's Prayer",. She was accompanied by Mrs. Roma Ekins. LaDawn Mecham has returned home after having spent a month in Orem with Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Robinson and family spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mecham. Visiting at the home of Mrs. Erma Cropper is Allene Reeve, dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Reeve from Fillmore. Roger Bliss is spending three days at Bear Lake. The trip was for all Deseret News carriers. The Gospel Message Sunday School class had a swimming par-ty at the resvoir. After the swim they journeyed to Evelyn Skeem's home for refreshments. Mary Ellen Cropper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hon Cropper, held a birthday party recently.' Games were played and refreshments ser-ved to the following guests. Russell Talbot, Lewis Swensen, Nev., where they have working with the bees. Cal Barlow of Bountiful has been visiting with Don Morris and Daryl Cropper for a day. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ren Taylor are their grand children, Allen and Ileen Taylor, Ada rvianne iroppei, iiuima Roseann Spencer, David and Elden Ekins, Alice Gaye Bliss, Kriss Har-dy, Janette and Lucille Hurst, Kathy and Jerry Pabst, Alene Reeve, and Connie Cropper. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Tanner is their grand-son, Del. Ray Hughes from Salt Lake City. Mr., and Mrs. Hon Cropper and family,' and .Mr.-an- Mrs. Howard Roundy " spent Sunday in Provo with Dr. and Mrs. C E. Hyatt. ' Hank W. Anderson of Provo has been visiting with Pat Pratt re-cently. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Knight and family visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Fay Theobald. Mrs. Robert Bishop has gone to Memphis, Tenn., where she will spend the summer with her par-ents there. Her two daughters, Pat and Debra went with her. Vickie Damron, young daughter of Mr. Ken Damron, spent a week in Fillmore with her grandparents children of Mr. Ralph Taylor. Visiting at the Heber Bishop and R. Swensen home this week are Mr. and Mrs. Svend Larsen and family of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Valdemar Gronborg and Anitta of Denmark. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bishop, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bishop, and Mr. Alfred White and children were recent visitors at the Lafe Nielson home. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Spendlove over the week end was Ray Spendlove. J. Ward Spendlove will saty with them this week end. They are staying with them while their parents are at the JayCee Convention at Dallas, Tex. Mr. and Mrs. Roe Buhanan and family are on vacation through the Southern Parks. They plan to go to Flagstaff, Arizona to visit Grant Woodbury before they re-turn home. The following people went to Manti to the Temple last Thurs-day to do work for the Elder fam-ily. Mr. and Mrs. T. George Theo-bald, Mrs. Lyzette Erickson, Mrs. Arvilla Swensen, and Mrs. Emma Spendlove. Marilee Davis of Tooele has been a recent visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Spencer. A birthday party for Norma Spencer was held last week. Guests invited were Larry and Steven Love, Connie Cropper Allene Reeve Mary Ellen Cropper, Sylvia and Ada Maline Cropper, RosAnne Claire, and Shirley Spencer, Bon-nie Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Wise. Sgt. Lynn Ireland was recently home on a 25 day furlough. He reported back to Travis Air Force Base alst week. While he was here he was visited by Miss Libby Delvechio of Toledo, Ohio for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Theobald visit-ed in Hinckley. Ed was recently discharged from the Army and has been living in Boise, Idaho. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum. Tanner recently were their children, Mr. and Mrs.' A. L. Caffall from Reno, Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Mecham and fam-ily from Portland, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hughes and family of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Tanner of Salt Lake City. Mrs. lone Christensen recently returned home from a two day trip. She visited with her husband, Elder Jim Christensen a3 Casper, Wyoming. She took the car to him to use on the rest of his mission. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hilton brought her back from Wyoming. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stratton last week was Mr. and Mrs. Warren Stratton of Salt Lake. Both Mrs. Stratton's and Mr. Stratton's birthdays are on the same day and a nice party was given to them. Elvln Tanner and Del Ray Hughes just returned from Prumpt, LcaMiiiigton MRS. MABEL HARDER Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stephenson of Los Angeles drove up to attend June conference and have been visiting relatives here and in Lynn dyl. Mrs. Bud McCann, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lovell attended the fun-eral in Salt Lake last week for Mrs. Mary Best Tolmer, mother of Mr. Tom Best. Mrs. John Reed of Payson, a former old time resident of Leam-ington visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Oxel Johnson and other friends. Kay Lovell son of Mr. and Mrs. LaForge Lovell returned home Sun day after spending several weeks visiting in Blanding with relatives. Janice Nielson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clint Nielson, is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Clara Ad-ams, in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Kenneth Nielson and Mrs. Grant Nielson drove to Provo Fri-day to visit Mrs. Jack Nelson of Lynndyl and her new twins. The twins, a boy and a girl, were born last week in the Utah Valley hos-pital. Mr. and Mrs. William Walsh and baby spent last week end with Arlene's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo-nard Dutson. Gene Dutson also visited with them. Gene is working in Milford during the current steel strike. Mrs. Ben Lovell accompanied her mother, Mrs. Sam Ritchie to Los Angeles last week. Millie ex-pects to return within a few days leaving Mrs. Ritchie visiting a few weeks with her many relatives there. Visiting Sam Jensen over the week end were his daughter and Mr nnri ATr3 P.rnrad Vbgal and family of Salt Lake City. The previous week another daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dangerfield, of Manti, visited their father a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson and family of Murray visited their many friends and relatives over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson and children are staying temporarily in Leamington while Ray is working in Delta. Little Marsha Hanson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burton Hanson underwent a tonsillectomy Satur-day in the Delta hospital. Mr. and Mrs. George Evans were honored at a family gathering on Saturday evening at the John Ev-ans home. The newly weds receiv-ed many lovely wedding presents, and attending beside the bride and bridegroom were Mr and Mrs. John Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Chaffin, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Evans, Mr. and Mrs. Bus Shields, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Mar-tin, .and Mr. and Mrs. Brent Peart, and their families. Oak City Mae H. Shipley At the services Sunday evening Sgt Glen Christensen was the speaker, giving a very fine report of his experience since he left foi of the peo-ple, the army. His report country and conditions were very interesting and enjoyed by all who were in attendance. We are happv to have his young man home" again with his family and friends after so many months at the front lines. Saturday evening a dance was given j.n honor of Myron Chrsiten-se- n who has returned from an LDS mission. Glen Christensen and Clead Lovell, a returned mission-ary. Clead was unable to be pre-sent but was remembered at the party. A lovely floor show was a main feature of the evening. Dan cers from the MIA dancing at Salt Lake were present and rendered a very fine demonstration of the dance. Glen Rawlinson and Mrs. Robinson and other Delta dancers joined the Oak City dancers in this floor show. The Special Interest party Tues-day evening was well attended. Mrs. Sebrina Ekins gave a book report. Lee Rogers sang several numbers. Refreshments of straw-berry shortcake was served. 35 people were present. Mrs. Blanchard 'has returned home after a two months visit with her children in Nevada and California. Mrs. Ely Nielson has returned home after several weeks visit at Leslie Idaho with her son, Glen and family. Bruce Lovell had his Sunday School Class for a party in the canyon Wednesday night. Wieners and marshmallows were roasted. Miss Helen Schick is visiting in Oak City, her home 's in California Mrs. Vera Poulsen is visiting her friends and sister, Arvetta Peter-son. She is from California. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Anderson were Salt Lake visitors last week. Brent Lovell was home for a couple of days from his camp at Cheyenne, Wyo. Mrs. Ann Cooper and family vis-ited her mother, Mrs. Eliza And-erson. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper have their daughter, Wanetta and baby visiting from Roy, Utah. It is Rae Lynn Smith, the old baby girl they adopted recently. Miss Louise Forster, daughter of Mrs. Ila Forster, has returned to Delta after a visit of several weeks in Arizona with her aunt, at Ben-son. She made the trip there with her cousin, Ted Harris, who is em-ployed at Tucson. |
