Show Defense Bonds Sale Booming As Year Ends America's "best buy", the Series E United States Defense Bond, acquired ac-quired new popularity with Utah purchasers during the last quarter of 1951, Clem S. Schramm, state director, U. S. Treasury Savings Bonds division .reported today. During October, November and December "E" bond sales were up more than 17 per cent compared compar-ed with the same period one year earlier. Each month showed an increase, in-crease, Mr. Schramm reported. Utahs' bond purchases during December totaled $885 859 for "E" "F" and "G" securities. Increases over the previous year were recorded recor-ded in 20 counties: Beaver, Box Elder, Davis, Duchesne, Emery, Garfield, Iron, Millard, Morgan, Rich Sanpete, Sevier, Summit, Too ele, Uintah, Utah, Wasatch Washington Wash-ington Wayne and Weber. The Series ' "E" total for the month was 861,911. "This continuing trend upward is especially heartening because it is accompanied in Utah by a very sizeable drop in redemptions" Mr. Schramm said. The redemption decrease was 28.8 percent in Dec. "I believe the redemption rate will go even lower as people understand un-derstand more and more the advantages ad-vantages of automatic extension of Defense bonds," he explained. "Holders of Series E bonds do not need to do a single thing to have their bonds continue earning and growing for another 10 years. The privilege is entirely automatic." |
