Show Scouts Prepare To Observe Annual Birthday Deseret district of Boy Scouts of America is preparing a program pro-gram for observation of the international inter-national birthday of Scouting starting star-ting Feb. 4. and extending for one week. First event will be a Court of Honor to be held in Delta Third ward Sunday evening, Feb. 4, and in connection will be a Post of Honor for Explorers. Scouts and Ex plorers of all troops are urged to be present to receive their various awards and to make this event the largest of the year. It is set for 7:30. On the evening of Feb. 8 there will be a recommittal broadcast of KSUB of Cedar City at 8 p. m. cit winuri unit: an k.uua, oi;uui&, Explorers, Sea Scouts, Scouters and those interested in the Scout move ment will recommit themselves to the Scout oath. During the week of the birthday all troops are asked to hold birthday birth-day parties within their wards to which their parents are invited. This is asked so as to acquaint the parents with Scouting. Also the committee asks that Scouts invite any friends interested in Scouting to attend these birthday parties. Not included within the week, but in connection with the birthday birth-day will be the Rose Prom sponsored spon-sored by the Explorers and MIA Maids to be held on Feb. 13. The place of the events has been tentatively ten-tatively set for Hinckley. Scouting is expanding in the Deseret district and the committee asks all interested to attend these functions and become more acquainted acqu-ainted with Scouting so that it may even grow further in this area |
