The condition, con-dition, known as acute traumatic gastritis, often cuts milk production as much as 90 per cent within 12 to 24 hours and is a frequent cause of death. Surgery, involving removal remov-al of the piercing object, will save the animal if performed in time. But the easiest .way to deal with . the problem is to prevent it by keeping pieces of metal and other sharp objects out of the feed and out of pastures. - i |
