Show Are Wed Fifty Years v ,: l; y ' , ; 4 ; - Jt- ' " , Mr. atnd Mrs. Joseph R. Mortensen Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Mortensen Morten-sen of Delta will be honored at a reception in the Delta high school Saturday, June 9, in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary June 11. An open invitation is extended to their many, friends and relatives to attend, and it is requested that no gifts be brought. Children of the couple will present pre-sent a program at 8 p. m. in the DHS auditorium, after which there will be dancing in the gymnasium. Mr. Mortensen was born July 2, 1887, in Parowan, a son of Hans Peter and Louisa Hadden Mortensen. Morten-sen. Mrs. Mortensen was born on March 8, 1879, at Parowan, a daughter dau-ghter of Joseph and Eliza Gurr Mickelson. There were married in the St. George LDS temple June 11, 1901, and made their home in Parowan until 1932, when they moved to Delta, where Mr, Mortensen and three sons took over management of the Big Delta Ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Mortensen have both been active in church and community affairs. Since their arrival ar-rival in Delta they have never missed attending Parents' Day at Delta high school. Although their children are all grown and married, mar-ried, they still attend PTA meetings, meet-ings, now in the interests of grand children. They are the parents of six sons and five daughters, nine of whom are still living and will be at the reception Saturday night. They are Clair Mortensen, Salt Lake City; Elwood Mortensen, TOD Park Tooele; Mrs. Fred S. (Eliza) Hed-quest, Hed-quest, Provo; Ronald, William and Milo Mortensen, Delta; Mrs. Ward (Barbara) Spendlove, Delta; Mrs. Dee (Florence) Smith and Mrs. John D.
