Show Blood Donations Are Planned By Local Citizens A number of local citizens have already given blood donations, and many more are planning to do so. How , where and when are the questions all easy to answer. Any adult in GOOD HEALTH between be-tween ages of 18 and 60, inclusive, inclus-ive, is eligible to make blood donations. don-ations. Also eligible is an unmarried unmar-ried minor 18-21 years of age with written permission of parents or guardian. The LDS hospital blood bank is located at 325 Eighth Avenue, Salt Lake City, and is open six days a week, but not Sundays or holidays. holi-days. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays they are open from 1 to 7 p. m. On Thursday they are open from 1 to 9 p. m. Tuesdays Tues-days hours are 9 a. m. to 12 noon, and on Saturdays from 9 a. m. to 2:30 p. m. , . The blood donation takes about ab-out 30 minutes. Attendants will give donors advice on what to do after the donation. Most important is that donors must not have food within four hours before giving blood. To make it much more convenient conven-ient for people from this area to make the trip to give blood, the Delta bus line, Dee Orton, driver, will take donors to Salt Lake City and return, FREE OF CHARGE, on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week. There have been a number of instances locally that have called for blood transfusions and repayment repay-ment to the blood bank, and response res-ponse locally has alwasy been at once. Just recently donations have been made from members of the Auxiliary of Post 117, American Legion. Wednesday, members of Auxilary Post 89 went to make donations. |
