Show Hinckley 3I-Men Named Winners Our first game of the divisional tournament will be held Wednesday Wednes-day night, Feb. 28, in Springville, where the Hinckley M-Men will play the Springville Second ward, at 9 p. m. Friday, February 24, the Hinckley Hinck-ley M-Men played the Oak City M-Meri to determine the winning team in the Deseret stake. This fast, thrilling game was attended at-tended by a good crowd who contributed con-tributed liberally at the half, to help pay the expenses of the winning win-ning team, to the tournament. The two teams moved fast taking tak-ing turns dropping in the baskets to end the first quarter with a tied score, 13 all. When the buzzer sounded for the half, Hinckley had collected four more points than their opponents op-ponents to make the score 22-18. At the beginning of the third quarter the Oak City M-Men came back ready to take the game. They held Hinckley to only three points and ended that quarter 33-25 33-25 in their favor. With Oak City ahead Hinckley went back into the fourth quarter with a spurt of energy that lasted to the end. Hinckley played circles around Oak City to end the game 42 for Oak City and 57 for Hinckley. Hinck-ley. Dean Stringham of Hinckley proved himself high point man, with a total of 24 points. Next in line was Bruce Lovell from Oak City, with 19 points. |
