Show Hinckley . Mrs. rlarriet Spendlove Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman have had for the past weeks as their guest Virginia Christensen of TOD Park. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Christensen came after her Sunday and spent the day here. Mrs. Christensen is the former Louise Workman ,a sister to Karl. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Hurst spent the week last week visiting with relatives in Payson and Morgan. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson and family vacationed last week in Yellowstone National Park. Mr. William Stapley went to Kanarra last week to attend a funeral there and Mrs. Stapley was a Salt Lake City visitor through the- week. In addition to immediate members mem-bers of the Ivan Wright family to go to Park City to attend the wedding wed-ding services of Dee Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Wright were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Blake, Lars Bishop Dell Shurtliff and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Swenson. Lester Hepworth is travelling this week in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Petersen left Sunday for a visit in Richland, Washington with former Grethe Petersen and family, , and to bring home with them their daughter, Karen, who has been at the Ship home since the 25th of May. She went then to help Grethe after the birth of her new baby. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Buffington returned re-turned last week after a two week stay in Los Angeles, having gone there to attend the funeral services serv-ices of his sister. Mr. and Mrs. John Ed Wright are visiting this week in Provo with Mr. and Mrs. J. Leslie Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Evan Theobald. Mr. and Mrs. T. George Theobald Theo-bald and Mr. and Mrs. R. Swensen are vacationing in the northwest making a three weeks tour Miss Melba Jean Swensen is visiting this week in Pocatello, with her sister, Mrs. Willard Anderson. And-erson. Not so long ago Mr. and Mrs. Anderson moved from Salt Lake City to Pocatello where Willard Wil-lard is employed in sheet-metal work. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morris and family and Mrs. Carl Theobald and Joyce Theobald went to Provo last Thursday to see the scouts off. Don Morris and Merlin Theobald Theo-bald were among the scouts to leave then for Valley Forge on the special train chartered by the scouts for that purpose. Tuesday evening marked the first MIA social in which the entire en-tire ward participated together. The evening was begun by the playing of group games. Prizes were given to the group winners of various activities. A program followed the games and following the program the group participated participat-ed in dancing for a short while. The program consisted of the following numbers, with most of the classes having a number from their group: a reading, by Grace Warnick; a vocal duet, rendered by Sherlene Talbot and Virginia Stevens; a reading, by Lyla Rae Talbot; an impersonation of Freddy Fred-dy Martin, singing, by June Hep-worth; Hep-worth; a reading by Marilyn Palmer, Pal-mer, song by the M-Men and Glea ners; the MIA Maids then gaae a pantomime in which Merodean Petersen was the narrator and members of the class enacted the the old fashioned melodrama. The evening was under the supervision sup-ervision of Ruth Robinson, recreational recrea-tional supervisors, and MIA sup-erintendency, sup-erintendency, Rodney Wright and Eugene Bishop and MIA Presidency, Presiden-cy, Ruth Talbot and Elaine Hardy. Pop and doughnuts were sold under un-der the direction of Lynn Talbot. Sunday night the program was given to commemorate the restoration restor-ation of the Melchizedek Priesthood A scriptural reading was given by Vaun Bennett; Carlos Bishop gave a talk; David Stevens talked; Don A. Bishop also gave a talk; Bishop Ekins gave the closing remarks. re-marks. All music for the evening was furnished by the choir. |
