Show II. II. S. News . . . MUSTANGS MANGLE MINERS . . . Without the aid of Cahoon and Stewart, the Mustangs still can't be topped. Even though he could not make the trip to Tintic, the HHS five still emerged on top. The Mustangs proved themselves a superior ball club in this game by leading at the end of the first quarter 15 to 4. The second quarter began as to provide good enertainment of different nature. the Mustangs still managed to stay ahead of the finers. The half ended with the Mustangs ahead 19 to 10. During the third quarter, the Hinckley five played a slow game and continually missed the hoop, which allowed the Tintic team to come within six points of them, ending the period, 23 to 29. The Hinckley beanpoles were sent in again and really blew the led off to end the game 44 to 27. Smith drew high point honors with 11 points. TUMBLING DISPLAY ... The four upper classes in Girls' Phys. Ed. are combining to put on a tumbling exhibition, Friday, Dec. 23, in the HHS gymnasium. Tie rest of the school will be excused excus-ed to watch. The girls have been practicing for about two months to perfect the stunts and promise CARNIVAL DANCE ... To help finance the yearbook, f the staff sponsored a Carnival 1 Dance on Dec. 16. J The entertainment of the even- 1 ing centered around booths and I games where prizes were award- I ed for skill. Spudnuts and punch 1 were sold and records played for I dancing. Those in attendance vot- I ed the evening a lot of fun. T 4 TAKE ASSEMBLY TO DELTA 1 As a courier of good feeling, the i HHS exchange assembly to Delta, 1 was a great success. Arranged by J Peggy Carter and Dick Davis, the program consisted mainly of parts J given on previous assemblies. Students from all the grades par J ticapated. As senior representat- ives, Peggy Carter, Dick Carter and J Eldon Cahoon took charge and 1 Verna Taylor offered a piano solo. The Juniors who took part were 1 Joan Davis, comedy dance: Kath- I ryn Wilson, musical reading; Elvln 1 Tanner, bottlewaterphone solo; Bir J die Lou Hilton reading. For the I sophomores' contribution a duet "White Christmas " by Kathleen i Fullmer and Kitty Carter; Gerald- j ine and Irene Lewis presented two 4 tap dance numbers and Naomi l Terry gave a reading. The Fresh- i ies and Seventh grade cooperated ' in presenting an instrumental duet j by Lyla Rae and Sherlene Talbot. I Margene Hilton, Anna Lee Swensen '. and Lulu Marie Hilton, Eighth gra- 1 ders sang a trio, "Winter Wonderland". Wonder-land". Mrs. Ruth Talbot accompan- ' ied most of the musical numbers. TEAM TAKING TOUR . . . The HHS basketball squad is tak ing a three day basketball trip to the southern end of region six. They will play Cedar on the 21st Wednesday, Kanab, Thursday, the 22nd and St. George on Friday, the 23rd. The Cedar City Indians will come to Hinckley for a practice game on Dec. 30. |
