Show Built-ins Win Great Favor With Women BuiTt-in storage facilities in homes find great favor among women. American Builder, leading lead-ing building industry magazine, learned that when 3,000 women realtors were asked for suggestions sugges-tions about building a house. The inquiries resulted in about 1,000 useful ideas. The most valuable valu-able ones were incorporated into a house constructed in Tulsa, Okla., by Mrs. R. B. Butler, a professional home builder. Among the unique built-in features fea-tures is a modern version of the I old-fashioned pantry. This has rfmihlB Honrs, with shelves and racks on their inner sides for cooking utensils, condiments, cook books and other kitchen items. The pantry also has built-in bins for vegetables and fruit as well as more conventional shelves and cabinets. A wide counter, extending the lull length of one wall, is an extra ex-tra convenience in the bathroom. Cupboards -and open shelves furnish fur-nish ample space for medicines, towels and toilet articles. Bedroom closets were built to ceiling height to provide storage compartments for seasonal clothing, cloth-ing, extra blankets and other infrequently in-frequently used belongings. j |
