Show FUNERAL FOR MRS. THORESON AT HYRUM m Hyrum, Oct. 6. Funeral services over tho remains of Mrs. Bertha Mario Thoreson wero held In tho Third ward meeting house last Thursday Thurs-day nt 1 o'clock. Bishop Louis P. Maughan presided, and tho ward choir furnished tho music and singing. sing-ing. Prayer was offered by Pres. Wm. C. Parkinson. Elders Chris Christensen, James J. Facer, I, C. Thoreson of Salt Lako City, and T. A. Thoreson of Logan epoko commenting on tho explicit faith and amiable character possessed by tho departed sister. A vocal solo, "My Father Knows," was very ably rendored by Elder Leonard Larsen. Bishop Louis P. Maughan made a few remarks, thanking all who had rendered any asslstanco under the sickness and death of Mrs. Thoreson. The funeral was well attended, and floral offerings offer-ings wero many and beautiful. A large cortago followed the remains to tho cemetery, whero tho choir sang "Resting Now From Caro and Sorrow,' Sor-row,' while tho casket was being lowered. The grave was dedicated by; Elder W. A. McBrlde. Sister Thoreson was born Juno 26th, 1855, at Stravanger, Norway, and died on Monday evening, Sept. 24th, 1917. Sho was tho wlfo of Hans Thoreson, who preceeded here to the great beyond be-yond soverul years ago. On Wednesday, Sept. 2C, Mr. Russell Hanson, son and Mr. nnd Mrs, Soren Hanson of Hollywood, Cal., formerly of Hyrum, and Miss Victoria Vic-toria Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Olson of this city, were married in the Salt Lako temple. Mr. Hanson, Han-son, who recently returned from a mission In tho northwestern states, is a young man of excellent character and reputation, whllo tho brldo, who Is an accomplished pianist and a very popular young lady, has over been held In tho highest esteem by all who know her. Tho young couplo left Hyrum on Thursday for Salt ! Lako, whero they wero married tho allowing day, nnd then left for Sin Francisco, where they will spent a short honeymoon, after which thoy will go to Los Angeles whoro they Intend to mako tholr homo. Tho young couplo wero ncconipanled as far as Salt Lako by Mrs. Oluf Olson, who returned homo Thursday. On Soptember 2Cth, Mr. John R. Humphcrlcs of Mlllvlllo nnd Miss Eulalla Poterson of this city wero united In tho holy bonds of matrimony matri-mony at tho Logan temple. Mr. Humphcrlcs Is well nnd favorably known to tho pcoplo of this community, com-munity, and tho brldo, tho daughtnr of our respected towns peoplo, Mr. nnd Mrs. P. C.
