Tins is proved by the fact that these sugar su-gar companies have recently secured several hundred pounds of tho pedigreed pedi-greed seed from the station. This seed camo originally from a strain ot the beet sugar beet seed produced In Europe and It has been carefully bred by tho station for fifteen fif-teen years. Tho Utah Experiment Station has been producing seed for sometime past and there has been developed a strain ot pedigreed sugar beet seed, that is hardy and In every way suited suit-ed to western -conditions. Sugar companies have been purchasing the oxcess seed produced by tho Utah station and several strains have been developed by them directly from station sta-tion strains. - The United States Is rapidly becoming be-coming Independent of Europe for her sugar beet seed supply. Mr. John Chrlstonsen, chairman of tho Fish and Game committee, reported re-ported that according to correspondence, correspond-ence, the committee, had received from the government and state gaino warden, that it would not bo possible to build a fish hatchery or sub-station In Logan canyon at tho present tlmo ,hut a largo number of fry could bo secured from tho stato and government gov-ernment fish hatcheries for tho Logan Lo-gan and Blacksmith Fork rivers and other streams In the county. It is tho Intention of the committee to construct con-struct pods at tho DoWitt pasture lu tho canyon so the fry can mature properly and not becomo destroyed. Tho chairman further repotted that thero are about 75 head of elk in "Logan "Lo-gan canyon besides a considerable number of deer and thoy aro all doing do-ing nicely.
