Show PASTOR'S THOUGHTS AWAY. Humorous Incident That Made His Congregation 8m lie. A Pennsylvania pastor, who helped my head and heart a great deal In my boyhood days, was sometimes rather hard on his choir. Ho could sing and loved to sing and Intended others should sing, Ono Sunday morning-ho morning-ho gave out n very long, difficult and slow hymn, no doubt Intending to skip somo of the stanzas, but his mind wandered. wan-dered. Tho choir was exhausted before be-fore half through. At tho next to the last verse the choir hesitated and looked at him beseechingly, but to no avail, then started on. At tho last verso, during tho Interlude, ho arose and requested thorn to sing tho last verso. His manner carried tho Idea that they would have to skip a number num-ber of versen to do It. Tho choir smiled and came to life. Tho congregation congre-gation smiled and snt up better. The pastor was surprised and wondered, hut for all I know bo never learned tho cause, of tho wave of cheer that passed over the church. Earl M. Pratt. |
