Show Lucy Day Handy Dead. One of Franklin's Good Women Passes to Great Beyond. Fkanklin, March 28. Sister Lucy Day Handy, the beloved wife of Elder James Handy and daughter of Joseph and Ann Day, of Uountlful, passed away at her home In this town on Friday, Fri-day, March 24th. Sister Handy was well and hearty on Friday the 17th Inst when she attended attend-ed the Relief Society meeting on that day. At night she was taken down with a heavy cold which turned to pneumonia in the worst form so that on Monday her condition was serious. Doctor States wrfs called to see her and found she had a malignant case of pneumonia. He sent for Dr. Adam-son Adam-son and they both did all they could for her, but they had no liope for her. Her second son, Oeorge Handy, was on a mission to Colorado. When tho family found there was no hope for her they sent Immediately for George. Sister Lucy told them she was not going go-ing to leave them until she had seen George. Elder Handy arrived home Thursday night and had the privilege of seeing his beloved mother before she passed away. On Friday evening at 7 o'clock she died. All the family," her husband and children, brothers and sisters were at her bedside to the last moment. It was sorrowful and so sudden. She was the mother of thhteen chlldicn.thrcedead and ten Uving,(six boys and four girls.) Three of tho boys and two girls ate married. She was a good wife and loving mother and a good Latter-day Saint. She did all she could in training tier children to be good. She has gone te meet hex reward. |
