A farmer in the Peak district, having purchased a small Hock of sheep In the Lowlands, Low-lands, drovo the Hock the wholo way from Scotland to his farm In Derbyshire Derby-shire with tho aid of a colllo ring which was lent to him by the Scotch farmer from whom lie purchased the sheep. "When you get to your hume with the sheep." said" the Scotchman, "let tho dog fill his belly; then tell him to go home." The Derbyshire man duly arrived at his farm with the sheep, nnd was so pleased with tho colllo dog and Its performance that ho decided to keep it a few days before sending it back. One day he was away from home during the whole of tlio day, and on returning In the evening he round that the Scotch colllo col-llo wns missing, and also tho Hock of sheep. In a few days tidings enme that the dog hud arrived at his Scotch homo nnd had brought tho sheep back with him. |
