Show The Franklin Relief. Ladies Have a Pleasant Celebration Celebra-tion on 38th Anniversary. FitANM-iN, Idaho. On Tuesday the i Relief Society of Franklin held thel ;iHth anlversary of the organization of the Hellof Society In Franklin. Meeting Meet-ing was held In the meeting house, as the Society house was not large enough. Wc had with us the llrst and second counclllois of tho stako presidency of the ltellef Societies of Oneida stake, namely, Sister Mlckel- son, of Weston, Sister Parkinson, of Preston and Stake Secretary Sister McNIel, ot Falrvicvv, also Sister Hoth-wick, Hoth-wick, now of Marsh valley, who was the llrst President of the Franklin Society when It was organ l7ed In the year 18H"; also Hlshop L. L. Hatch, Councillor Thomas Durant, Patriarch 1. H. Nash, and Elder Mlckelsonof Weston. Meeting was held at two. o'clock. A good many of the Sisters j were present. Picsldcnt Sister Annlo Challls presided. Meeting commenced commenc-ed bv the congregation singing "Wc Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet;" Prajcr by Patriarch I. 15. Nash; Singing Sing-ing again "Hcdccmcr of Israel," after which the financial report of the year 1001 was read by the Secretary, Sister Ina Hatch Parkinson and accepted unanimously. un-animously. The presiding olllccrs of tho Stako were presented and unanimously unani-mously sustained and also the olllccrs of Franklin Society wore presented and sustained. President Annie Challls reported the condition of Franklin Society up to the present time. The Society Is In a good, thriving condition, and hopes to continue con-tinue and Improve all the time. The visiting sisters then spoke and gave good counsel to thu sisters and encouraged them to go on and Impiove and do their duty and the Loid would bless them by so doing. Sister Maber Handy sang "Should You Feel Inclined Inclin-ed To Censure." Then Slsteis Fox, ltothvvlek and Hanks spoke a short time, also L, L. Hatch and Thomas Duiant and 1. II. Nash. SlstcrChallis made the closing remarks, followed by singing, by the congiegatlon. llenc-i diction by elder Mlekclson of Weston. After meeting all were Invited to the Society house to partakj of Lunch-ocn Lunch-ocn piovldcd by the Society free. All sat dow n and had cake and raspberries rasp-berries and cream, apples and cheriic, etc., and Ico cream, when all went home much pleased with the meeting and doings after. Franklin 1 believe Is improving some, temporally and spiritually, but there Is room for more Improvement. The Lord has blessed us with good crops, and wc ought to do better In the future, so as He will still bless us. Some Advice. Friend do not Jest with join wife upon a subject in which there Is dan- ( ger of wounding her feelings. He-member He-member that sho treasures every word jou utter. Ho not treat your wife with Inattention In com-pany, com-pany, It touches her pride, and sho will not respect jou more or love jou better for It. Do not upbraid jour wifo In the presence of a third party. Tho sense of jour disregard of her feelings will prevent her from acknowledging her faults. Do not entertain jour i wife by praising the beauty and accomplishments ac-complishments of other women. If jou would havo a pleasant home and ja cheerful wife, pass jour evenings under jour own roof. Do not be stern and silent In your own house and remarkable re-markable for sociability elsewhere. |
