Show Dead From Pneumonia. Mrs. C. C Hawkes Passes Away After a Very Brief Illness. Mrs. KUa Cole Hawkes, well-known well-known to the greater part of Logan pcoplc.dled'at her home In the Second ward Tuesday evening. The lady was 05 years of age and had been 111 but a few dajs with lagrlppe, which ended In pneumonia and her death. Mrs. Hawkcf was the mother of ten chlldicn, live bojs and five ghls, all of them living with the exception of a daughter, Francis, who died at tlnce years. Those left to mourn the departure de-parture of their mother are: C.C. Cies-sal, Cies-sal, Eliza Hawkes-Davldson, Sarah Hawkcs-Worley, Herbert, Alyln, Nellie, Nel-lie, and Horatio P. Hawkes, and Elizabeth Eli-zabeth Hawkes-Glbbs. The deceased was a Londoner by birth but at the ago of eight Joined tho Latter-day Saints and came to Zlon. She was a member of ono of tho ox-cart companies of the plains In 18G2 and at this tlmo came to Logan. During her life here she has lived asa Christian, exhibiting those virtues and giaccs that havo endeared her to those with whom she has been associated. associ-ated. She will bo sadly missed not only by her relatives but by a host of friends. The funeral will be held at the Second ward meeting houso today (Saturday, March 4,) at 1:30 p.m., to which all friends are Invited. |
