A dispatch from Hatavla (capital of tho Dutch East Indies) says that tho commander of tho expedition to North Achln (northern Sumatra) attacked Likat on Juno 20. Tho Achlncso loss was 432 killed, Including 281 women nnd eighty-eight children, and fifty-four fifty-four wounded. Seventeen prisoners wero taken. Tho Dutch casualties Included In-cluded tho commander, Aleut, two sergeants ser-geants and thirteen soldiers wounded. On Juno 23 tho Dutch troops attacked Langatbars, when tho Achlncse losses wero GG4 killed, Including 18C women and 130 children, and forty-nlno wounded. Twenty-eight prisoners wero taken. Tho Dutch losses wero a captain, twenty-two soldiers and six coolies wounded. |
