Show DROWNED IN ALBERTA A young man formerly form-erly of Wellsville Met death while fording ford-ing a lake. The following clipping was taken from the Alberta Star of June 30th. It will be observed that the first part states that It wasJohnRankhead who vas drowned and the last part, Mr. Ihoadbcnt. Acquaintances of the unfortunate un-fortunate joung man can possibly decide de-cide who he Is by leading the following: follow-ing: "A sad, Inevitable and fatal accident befell young Mr. John Bankhead of Lcavitt, last Monday evening. The young man had been to Cardston on business for his employer, Mr.Stiattu, whoso home Is 12 miles west of this point. He left Cardston In the early part of the afternoon for Mr. Stratte's place. Enrouto he called at Mr. William Wil-liam Iteld's and spent a few minutes In social conversation. From Mr. Rcld's it became necessary to "cut through the Holds" In order to get to his terminus. Tho young man was horse back. This Is the last actual knowledge we have of his whereabouts." where-abouts." Tho article further states that the animal he was riding was found drenched drench-ed with water. The young man had evidently tried to foul a lake to effect a cut off on the road. Continuing it states: "The gate he should have opened had he intended to go around the Lake, as is customary, was securely fastened.
