Show MENDON MAKES I BIG DAY OF 24TH I Celebrates in Honor of I The Pioneers. I Parade, Program, Ball I Game and Sports. I Mkkdon July 23th. The parade on M the -tth was a complete success, every H thing looking beautiful. There were H tlvo large floats, ono of them, contain- H ed Miss Alta Ilardman representing H Coodcss of Liberty, and another one H contained Miss Annie Hughes repre- H scntlng Utah. There were twelve girls and twelve bojs on horses, lH Twenty four smaller boys bedecked H In red, white and blue rode horses. H There were from twenty to twenty H four Indians, and tho attack they H made on the pioneer train was perfect. B The burlesque band, or the Hold's H Junior band, certainly gave some H splendid music. The procession H marched over the main part of the H town, and then to the meeting house', H where an Interesting program wasren- H dorc.1 as follows: jH Programme. H Song Choir H Prayer Wm. H A dance was given in tho meeting H house for the children at 2 p. m. at U I p. m. there were races, nail driving H by women, and also needle threading H by the girls. At 0 p. m. there was a H ball game between the Indians and H some of tho other boys and the Indians H came out victorious H There was a ball given In Richard's H hall In the evening, a largo crowd be- H Ing present, and all enjoyed them- H sel ves to tho greatest extent. jH One sad accident happened on the H imii. Mr. II. F. Richards got his M arm broken, but he is now getting H along nicely. H A big lawn party was given In honor H of John Ladle Jr., by his parents. H Mr. Ladle In company with a lady H friend, Miss Rull from Salt Lake city, H were visiting their folks on tho 24th. H A large numbor were present and all H seemed to have an enjoyable time. H Mr. Jos. II. Ilardman had a very H valuable horse die yesterday. H |
