One of the candidates, a young man, the protege of the countiy clialimaii and very new at the game, became thoroughly dlscouiaged sevei-al sevei-al times during the progress o f he campaign and thic.itcucd to throw up the sponge, notably so on the evening even-ing of election day while the leturns weie coming In.
