H Barns Toppled Over . and One Crushed. jH Mendon was visited Wednesday ll by one of the most destructive winds iPH of icccntjcars, reminding tho people ll of olden times. It amounted almost liifl to a cvclono coming fiom the south- liH west and follow Ing the eastern end of liiil the town. Mr. E. P. Sholton's high JH hay stack was the II ret to yield to its pPH power. It was detopped about a pPH third of the way down, landing it In JH the sticct. Mr. Isaac Sorcnscn's H stacks across the street came next in iH the track of the wind. The first was JPPJ taken off to the square and lifted over iPH a center stack and landed on the JJPJ thhd knocking the top off, piling tho iJPJ hay on tho north side. Mr. Jerry jlpH Baker's stacks about a block east be- ipP Ing In the open field got the full force jppH of the storm and it took them off jPJJJ about half way down and scattorcd jipH hay to the r.ilhoad track a half mile H A strip of shingles, three feet wide H and six feet long was torn fiom tho jPH house of .lens Jensen.
