Show About Thoreson. Wellsvllle. Maich 17, IDOL Editor IlKi'iniLiuAx:- I notice that Mr. F. C. Thoieson bleaks Into the Logan Journal and scores your paper as "antl-Mormon," etc. Possibly this Is none of my light, but I am Interested in the successor TlIK ItKIMMIMCAN which Ills piOVCIl itself woithy of the hearty support of the Mormon people, and knowing Thoreson so thoioughly, I can not resist the temptation to ask you to give me the space to say to tho public that such talk from a man of Ids ie-cord ie-cord Is nothing but "tot," and unworthy un-worthy of consideration. The stand taken against Thoieson at the conference when he was chosen as councillor to Piesldent I'aikinson is still ficsh In the minds of many. A piomlncnt lllshop of this county stated stat-ed positively that I. C. Thoieson was not in harmony with the chuich and lis could piove It. This petition that now comes to the suiface supports the lilshop In his .statements. The people will, of couise, judge for themselves them-selves whether I. C. Thoreson did or did not uso what little ability he has In helping to bi lng on the crisis that now confionts the people. The attempt of this gentleman to disciedit tile lellglous standing of one of jour stall who has been so well known for yeais, Is entliely out of place. Thoieson should keep under cover and let better men than he question other men's loalty. Onu Who knows. |
