I 3, 18G3, from Pekln, III,, (o .Foter , Doty, circuit clerk at Mctamora at Bl that time. Tho letter refers to a'sult rB pending In tho Woodford county court The epistle Is written on blue paper, B being so folded as to answer with- BJ out tho necessity of an envelope. It BJ Is fastened with a red wafer and Is !! marked "Paid three cents," no post- BB age stamp being used. Tho rating jflj stamp is very plain. Mr. Irving has IBI refused an offer ot $100 for tho letter. ' BJ He also has a four-post bedstead ot BJ black walnut which stood for fifty :BJ years in the parlor of the Metamora BJ house, built in 1843. Lincoln frequent- BJ ly slept upon this bed. Mrs. Spears, 'BJ an English woman, was the proprietor BJ of thlB hostelry for many years. Lin- BJ coin always stopped at Mrs. Spears' B tavern.
