Show MAKE NEW CLIMBING RECORDS. Himalayan Peaks Ascended by Adven-turous Adven-turous Mountaineers. Mountaineering records have recently re-cently been broken In two respects in tho Huna Nngar peaks of the Himalayas, Him-alayas, on the northwest frontier of India, Bays the Chicago News. For four years past Mr. and Mrs. Hnlloek Workman havo been carrying on climbing operatlo i In thoso parts with the aid of Swiss guides, and Aug. 12 last Dr. Workman and two guides climbed nn unnnmed peak near the Chogo Loongma glncler to a height of 23,394 feet. They did not quite reach the top, hut this Is higher than tho previous world's record, which Is tho summit of Acaucngua, In the Andes! 23,083 feet. Mount Everest, however, the highest peak In tho world, still remains re-mains unconqtiured. On tho samo day Mrs. Bullock Workman reached a height of 22.GG8 feet, which breaks the previous record for women held by herself by 1.5CS feet.
